UTHSC COP student pharmacists will make an announcement before the start of a Memphis Redbrids baseball game. The announcement will be to bring about diabetes awareness and education about diabetes. During the game, there will be an Operation Diabetes table set up that will be presenting information to the patrons at the game about the importance of maintaining a healthy life style. In addition, we will also provide giveaways for our visitors such as a recipe guide, bookmarks with diabetes information, and information sheets about diabetes. As a supplement, we also look forward to providing blood pressure screenings. Our aim is to provide diabetes education in such a way that the patients recognize preventive measures that they can take if they are non-diabetic, and for patients whom are diabetic, we hope this event will allow them to be more aware of ways that they can manage the disease.
